Design That Speaks a Global Language: Czech Brands Shine in the Heart of Paris
On Thursday, 18 September 2025, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Paris was transformed into a vibrant gallery, bringing together Czech creativity and French elegance – and once again proving that Czech design holds its own on the global stage.
The third edition of this prestigious gathering of leading Czech manufacturers and international professionals was organised by the Association of Czech Industrial Design in cooperation with the Czech Embassy. Following last year’s successful event in London, it returned beneath the Eiffel Tower. The event was held with the support of the French industrial design association APCI and the hospitality-focused trade fair EquipHotel.
Czech Design Day attracted more than 130 French professionals, including designers, architects and representatives of the creative industries. The highlight of the afternoon was a panel discussion featuring leading figures of European design. The guest of honour and keynote speaker was Patrick Norguet, an internationally acclaimed French designer who recently collaborated with the Czech brand TON on the Cissy armchair.
He was joined by Roman Vrtiška, one of the most prominent Czech designers and member of the duo Vrtiška & Žák, and David Karásek, Vice-Chairman of AČPD, designer and founder of mmcité, a global leader in urban furniture, who also moderated the discussion. The programme also featured Julien Petitseigneur, a French automotive interior designer at Škoda Auto, who presented the futuristic Vision O concept.
The meeting took place in the unique setting of the Czech Embassy near the Eiffel Tower, where 16 Czech manufacturers presented their products on site – showcasing furniture, lighting, glass and other design pieces. Participating brands included Bomma, Brokis, Lappa Studio, LD Seating, Klimchi, M&T, Master & Master, mmcité, Polstrin, Ravak, Rim, Rückl, Škoda Auto, Todus, TON and USSPA.
The discussion offered valuable insights into contemporary industrial design from both Czech and French perspectives, creating space for sharing experience, inspiration and new professional connections. Czech Design Day 2025 successfully fulfilled its mission – presenting the best of contemporary Czech design while strengthening collaboration between Czech manufacturers and French designers, architects, interior designers and distributors.
The event was followed by an open day at the Czech Embassy as part of the European Heritage Days. During the Saturday programme, around 800 visitors from the general public came to explore the embassy spaces and discover the products of Czech brands.
An integral part of Czech Design Day in Paris is also an outdoor panel exhibition on the embassy fence, offering a cross-section of leading Czech design brands. Located in a prestigious area near the Eiffel Tower, it will remain on display for Parisians and visitors alike until the end of October 2025.
